Voice of Nature

There was massive participation of community members in the tree planting project, with the zeal and commitment from the Chiefs and Village committees.
Psychotherapy – Wilderness based Retreats
Two Ark and Mark satellites, Okavango Sub-district and Beteti Sub-district conducted retreats of a total of 76 children, in Tsodilo Hills (29) and Moremi Game Reserve (47) respectfully. Each retreat taking a period of 16 days concentrated on giving the children intensive therapy while relaxing and enjoying nature based activities that squarely complement therapy.
It was such a healing experience for the children. Additional to the theory and practical training that Ark and Mark participated in, they also carried out a monitoring trip and evaluated the psychosocial health of all the graduates to assess the impact of the therapy.
Trainings
We are always reviewing and updating our partners on any development of the program. Our Intervention Therapist Mpho Sebako held two back to back trainings for 35 Community Volunteers (Bommabana) within March and April.
This was mainly to share with them our 12 month activity based follow-up program that they all need to follow to strengthen children’s and caregiver’s home based activities in the 93 villages/settlements that we cover. The trainings were a success as they were demonstration and practice based. This ended with vows of commitment to implement the activities straight away.
