January 2011
This year started on a high note with field activities, especially with emphasis to kick start the Lentswe la Tlholego project supported by Botswana Government’s Department of Environmental Affairs.   This project promotes the empowerment of Ark n’ Mark graduates who are still living within their communities.  These graduates are trained on conservation, resource management, and forestry.  They are then referred to as their Ward’s Activist and is tasked with educating their primary schools and community members on environmental issues.  Hundreds of people including community leaders, hundreds of family representatives and Ark and Mark graduates attended the launching of the project in the villages of Lerala and Lotlhakane East. The communities are excited about the project and are ready to take it up.
