The Ark n’ Mark concept is an intensive, emotionally healing therapeutic learning approach for children, who have lost their parents and now live in a world of marginality, uncertainty and disabling psychosocial loss. The programme uses a three prong philosophy beginning with a 16-day wilderness therapeutic retreat for the children, followed by caregiver sensitization workshops, and completed with a 3 year follow-up program.  The intent of our EARTH therapy is to provide these disadvantaged children with a transformative experience, and with a philosophical, practical basis for building healthy lives for themselves using nature and the great outdoors as a healing platform.

The Ark n’ Mark management are empowered Batswana that have dedicated their lives to serve their country.  The peaceful democracy of Botswana is located in Sub Saharan Africa sharing borders with South Africa, Namibia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.  Botswana is consistently ranked as the leading country in Africa in categories such as civil rights, anti-corruption, and democratic practices.  Botswana, although a political role model, has struggled in recent years with HIV prevalence rates amongst the highest worldwide.  It is estimated that there are over 48,000 orphans having a significant impact on the total population of 1.8 million.
